Are you struggling with feeling disconnected from yourself and others? Do you often prioritize others' feelings and needs over your own? Is it difficult for you to explore different aspects of yourself? In today's world, many people are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and uncertain about managing their relationships, careers, and lives.
Embarking on a journey of self-discovery can feel daunting, but it's a crucial step. This journey may involve setting boundaries, processing loss, and life transitions, or changing behavior patterns that are holding you back.
My approach is tailored to your specific needs. I aim to provide a safe space for you to acknowledge and experience all your emotions—both positive and challenging. My methods are based on my DBT, CBT, and person-centered care training.
If verbal communication is challenging for you, I can also offer alternative ways to process, such as through movement, art, or mindfulness. Integrating mind and body is essential for healing. Movement can help bring awareness to emotions stored in the body, complementing talk therapy to increase awareness of physical signals and thoughts. Awareness is the first step in making meaningful changes.
During our sessions, my primary goal is to support your nervous system, typically by strengthening the parasympathetic nervous system, which supports rest, digestion, heart rate, metabolism, and breathing. Many people experience chronic stress, which often results in a fight, flight or freeze response, so it's important to address this.
My experience includes working in residential treatment, day programs, and therapeutic schools. My specialties include trauma-impacted individuals and those navigating life with ADHD, anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, and self-esteem struggles.
I believe that therapy is a collaborative process, where you are the expert on your own life, and I am here to support you in exploring your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. If you're interested, feel free to email me for a free 15-minute consultation to see if we are the right fit for each other!
